INFLATION BUSTER
A quick note about Cream of Rice…STOP PAYING SO MUCH FOR CREAM OF RICE!

Michelle and I have been sayng for sereral years now that Cream of Rice is only ground up dried rice. If you are having a hard time sourcing it out or want to save some cash all you have to do is take your dry rice and grind it in a Magic Bullet. Check out the ingredient panel on the your orange box of Cream of Rice and you’ll see we’re right.

If that consistency is still not fine enough for you, and If you are trying to save a buck, there are other options. Michelle and I are constanty on the look for new diet foods that we can add to our clients’ meal plans. Asian grocery stores are a great source of amazing diet foods and we love United Supermarket at 1062 Adelaide St North in London, Ontario.

We’ve found a great source of Cream of Rice that WON’T BREAK THE BANK. Check out this price comparison for Rice Sooji:

Rice Sooji (Idli Rava) is $2.99 for 908g – that’s only $0.33 per 100g!!!

Compare that to another brand that’s available:
It priced at $15.99 for 675g – that a whopping $2.37 per 100g…..What?!?!

You can’t even compare those 2 products – both are plain (unflavoured) Cream of Rice but the price difference is HUGE.

Hit up your local Asian grocery store and give Rice Sooji (Idli Rava) a try … you can thank us later.

Another option that we love is RICE FLOUR, specifically GLUTINOUS RICE FLOUR (derived from sweet rice). It cooks the same as Cream of Rice but has more of a pudding consitency. It tastes great with cinnamon and sweetener or mixed with a Chocolate Isoflex serving. This is Dan’s go-to Cream of Rice option – very smooth and no grit.

Rice flour (from your local Asian grocery store) sits at around $3.98 for 800g ($0.49 per 100g) so it’s still a very affordable option. But if you are in a pinch or want to save the most on your groceries you can always grind your own rice in a Magic Bullet.
